Tomb of Hawa (upon her be peace) This is the entrance in Jeddah to what is believed to be the tomb of Hawa (upon her be peace), also known as Eve, the first woman created and the wife of Adam (upon him be peace). The name Jeddah means the “Ancestor of Women”.
This is the maqam/shrine of the Prophet Shoayb (عليه السلام). He is regarded as being the father-in-law of Prophet Musa (عليه السلام) and was sent to the people of Madyan, a community of merchants who controlled the great trade routes between Yemen and Syria, and between Iraq and Egypt on the shores of the Red Sea.
Masjid-e-Ebrahim in Hebron is built over a small cemetery where it is commonly believed that four of the most illustrious Prophets and their wives are buried. The four prophets are Ebrahim (عليه السلام), his son Isaaq (عليه السلام), his son Yaqoob (عليه السلام) and his son Yusuf (عليه السلام).
Jabl Ayr (Mount Ayr) is the second largest mountain in Madinah after Uhud and marks the southern boundary of Madinah. The Prophet (ﷺ) described it as a mountain of Hell.
This is regarded as the cave in which a group of pious youths (equated with the Christian legend of the ‘Sleepers of Ephesus’) sought refuge from a tyrannical pagan king and in which Allah (ﷻ) caused them to sleep for 300 years. Their story is mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Kahf. The cave is located in the suburb of Abu Alanda in Amman.
This historic photo shows the location of the Zamzam well in the mataf area. The Zamzam well has provided some 4000 years of almost continuous water supply, a living miracle. Note that this marking is currently no longer visible.
The picture above shows the Hajar al-Aswad (The Black Stone), which is set in the eastern corner of the Ka’bah. Tawaf begins and ends facing this sacred stone. Throughout the ages, countless people including many of the Prophets (upon them be peace), the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) himself, the Sahabah (رضي الله عنهم), pious personalities and millions of Muslims who have performed Hajj and Umrah have placed their blessed lips on it.
Mount Judi is the resting place of the Ark built by Nuh (عليه السلام) by the command of Allah. It is situated in south-east Turkey, close to the Syrian and Iraqi borders.
Mada’in Saleh (city of Saleh) is a pre-Islamic archaeological site located in the Al-Ula sector approximately 400km north-west of Madinah. It is here that the tribe of Thamud lived, famed for their ability to carve out homes in the mountains. The prophet Saleh (عليه السلام) was sent by Allah (ﷻ) to guide them but they rejected his teachings and were destroyed by an earthquake.
